Privacy and account management

This article explains how to manage your account and privacy from the Privacy & Safety screen on the phone apps. It covers removing a co-parent's access, requesting a copy of your data, and deleting your account. It also explains how SharedAnchor keeps your records private.

Remove co-parent access

Open Privacy & Safety and choose Remove co-parent access to end your co-parent's access to the shared account. This is silent: your co-parent is not sent any notification when you do it. A confirmation appears first because this cannot be undone without contacting support, so use it only when you are sure.

Request a data export

Choose Request data export to ask for a copy of your records. This opens an email to support so the team can send your data to you.

Delete your account

Choose Delete account to remove your account and its data. Because this is permanent, the app asks you to confirm before anything is deleted.

How SharedAnchor protects your records

The screen also explains the privacy protections that are always on for everyone. Financial records use an append-only ledger, so records cannot be quietly edited or deleted. Your co-parent cannot see when you last used the app, and push notifications never show amounts or names on your lock screen. Receipt photos have their location and camera data removed before they are stored.

States and recovery

Removing access and deleting your account both ask you to confirm first, and you can choose Cancel to back out. If an action cannot complete, the app shows "Could not complete. Please try again." and nothing is changed, so you can try again.
